The Twain is a 2-person packraft that easily fits in a backpack or under the handlebars of your bike. With a kayak this packable, you’ll be able get out there and educate yourself (and a friend!) on what the world looks like. The Twain is ideal for lake settings – whether you’re out for a recreation day paddle, or you’re on a week-long canoe trip exploring a series of lakes. The Twain excels at lakes, ocean, and Flat – Class 1 water with your two or four-legged friend, hauling all the gear in the world, or just finding a patch of still water to let nature fill your soul. The Twain is engineered to remain stable due to a flat hull profile, medium-sized rocker, and track straight with the removable tracking fin.
CONSTRUCTION & MATERIAL
The Twain features our 210 denier TPU Nylon sidewalls and proprietary 840 denier TPU Nylon floor. The seams are first stitched and then welded with double-reinforced 1 in (2.5 cm) wide seam tape. Additionally, the pontoon-to-floor attachment point is glued to the sidewall and then reinforced with v-seam tape around the entire interior of the packraft.
The 4 in (10.2 cm) thick Inflatable Seats are made from 210 denier Diamond-Ripstop Nylon and use a Stem Valve. This keeps you comfortable and improves paddling position which allows for deeper, more efficient paddle strokes.
For the main front and rear pontoon valves, the Twain features a Leafield D7 valve, the most durable and bomber valve on the planet. Used in all full-size rafts, the Leafield is made from roto-molded plastic and is threaded and screwed together, not welded or glued. Meaning your valve will never come un-welded or fall apart. The Leafield D7 also easily integrates with the all new TRiB airCap, Feather Pump or our Inflation Tube, Inflation Bag, and Foot Pump with Pressure Gauge.

SHAPE & DESIGN
The Twain features a moderate trim, slight rocker on the bow, and a large-volume stern which gives it great Flat Water, Lakes – Class 1 handling capability and stability. Combined with the extra-large 12 in (30 cm) diameter pontoons and higher floor-to-sidewall attachment point, the Twain is perfect for multiday trips with multiple portages or ocean paddling.
The adjustable kayak-style Backbands offer superior back-support while increasing paddling power.
NOTE: The Backbands can be left at home to save weight if necessary.
Open or “bucket” packrafts are perfect for paddlers wanting to minimize weight. They are great if you are in and out of the packraft and scouting often, or just have zero time for setting up your packraft.
Not enough? Add our 21 in (53 cm) Tizip to make your raft even more versatile. The Twain with the optional Tizip zipper increases storage giving you access to the inside of the packrafts pontoons. The Tizip compartment storage also integrates with our Delta Inflatable Dry Bags (Set of 2) which are perfect for protecting your gear or adding extra chambers of air.
NOTE: Lightly lubricate your Tizip zipper with the included silicon lubricant every single use. For more instruction on lubrication and Tizip care, see the Tizip Lubricant (8 g) or the Product Manual.
There are four strategically placed nylon loop d-rings on the front of the packraft to allow secure storage of gear or fatbike which also integrates with the Animas River Bag. Additionally, the Twain has two d-rings on the stern of the packraft allowing you to run a safety-line or store more gear.
NOTE: Always follow the Clean Lines Principles.
CARE & CLEANING
Always rinse your packraft off with clean water once you are off the adventure. Be sure to clean out any debris that may have accumulated in the seams of your packraft, where the pontoons meet the floor or spraydeck especially. Allow to dry fully. Store loosely rolled in a climate controlled, UV-free environment to extend the life as much as possible.
NOTE: A slight amount of Dawn or another friendly detergent can be added to the water.
If you choose the optional Tizip, lightly lubricate your zipper with the included silicon lubricant every single use. Avoid debris in the zipper teeth. For more instruction on lubrication and Tizip care, see the Tizip Lubricant (8 g) or the Product Manual.
