When you say "OMAKASE", you are putting your dining experience in the hands of a Japanese chef. When you place an order for the OMAKASE at GALASPORT, you will be pleasantly surprised by our master kayak designer, Boris Neveu, who holds the title as both World Champion and European Champion.
The OMAKASE is an upgrade of the previous model, the CAIPI, which was designed in co-operation with Boris in 2015. It is not, however, a replacement of the dynamic kayak CAIPI FINS, which had and will continue to have its own faithful customers. Our aim was to create a kayak with similar features as the CAIPI FINS, without having fins on the hull. Some customers have a negative attitude towards kayaks with fins and they prefere a smooth , unruffled hull.
The square profil of the hull ensures that the OMAKASE can hold direction perfectly and has no tendency to wobble, be it during the ride ahead or acceleration. By extending the hull of the OMAKASE where the previous model has its fins we have been able to obtain much better stability.
The back part of the cockpit rim is lower by 10 mm in comparison with the CAIPI FINS. You can comfortly lean back and the back edge of the cockpit rim doesn´t obstruct your movement. The deck in the front of the cockpit is flattened in the order to get under low obstructions with ease. Thanks to a few tweaks of the tail, the turning ability has improved significantly!
This boat can be ordered only in our top carbolight version. Truly high-performance boat for all competitors wiht the highest ambitions.
The highest specification available. This construction is intended for the most demanding slalom racers addressing not only the improved construction but also the looks. The biggest advantages of Carbolight technology are: weight, durability, firmness and great look due to the first carbon layer. A combination of 3 types of foam sandwich, MGS epoxy system and superior vacuum bag technology, Carbon surface and Carbon & Carbon/Aramid combination inside the boat. New developed Pyramid technology is used to provide lighter and more solid boats that would meet new ICF requirements. The principle of new pyrmid technology is in general dual stiffness control of the aft section of the boat hull. Although seamless on the outside [except for the bow and stern tips for extra protection], there is aramid seam on the inside. With this new improved construction, this results in a very strong boat with good resistance to damage. Boat weights (no seat) : K1 6.6-7.4 kg, C1 6.8-7.5 kg, C2 11 kg.
